Helping The Orphans of Kherson

There are 88 orphans in Kherson trapped behind enemy lines. They are being hidden in peoples homes to prevent their abduction by Russian forces. These volunteers need your help with food and supplies to keep these children alive. The massive flooding in the region only makes things worse.

How it all started

Pavel and Pavlo are from Kherson. When the Russians occupied Kherson they fled to Uman so they could help other refugees that are fleeing the conflict. From the very start of the war they began helping with the humanitarian crisis.

Before they left the occupied areas the orphanages contacted them for help. The Ukrainian government was not able to support them in the occupied areas. “Thus, we have 88 children under guardianship.”

The orphans were taken to host families, mostly the people who worked at the orphanage, to prevent them from being kidnapped and taken into Russia.

They set up a supply line and volunteers from Uman started transporting food, supplies, toiletries, school supplies, medical, and even birthday presents to the children. It’s been over a year. With the collapse of the dam and the massive flooding of the whole area this supply line is even more critical.

Being a Part of Their Lives

We would also like to invite you to be a part of their lives and let them be a part of yours. To follow the relief effort. We have created an online app that lets you talk with them, share pictures, share stories, share songs. “To get to know them by name.” Where time zones and language is not a barrier.
